Razones para participar
Wetlands International’s livelihoods projects try to prove that nature conservation and development efforts reinforce each other – they actually need each other in order to succeed. We want to share our lessons learned as well as our good and less successful practices with others. We also want to learn from others by participating in this network about their approaches, partners and solutions.

Themes:
We work on the conservation of networks of sites that support migratory waterbirds (flyways) and by enabling stakeholders and governments to conserve and manage them.
We also help people to conserve and restore wetlands for the services they provide and help to inform their governments about the wise use of wetlands for biodiversity and people.
We carry out research to elucidate and quantify the role of wetlands in water management and on how to integrate wetland management into water resource management programmes at the catchment or basin scale.
Ecosystems:
- humid forests
- marine and coastal ecosystems
- mountain ecosystems
- river basins and wetlands
Additional Information:
Wetlands International's mission is "to sustain and restore wetlands, their resources and biodiversity for future generations".
Wetlands International is a source of best-informed opinion on key issues affecting wetlands and priority actions for their conservation and wise use, drawing on scientific analyses and its own experience in global and national conservation programmes. We provide ' tools' and information to assist governments in the protection and restoration of wetlands. We try to influence relevant policies, conventions and treaties.
